Covid-19

During these unprecedented times, we are doing our utmost
to keep our guests informed regarding the 2021 season.

Blue Spruces Cottages is continuing to monitor the status of COVID-19 daily and is following all recommendations from our Chief Public Health Officer.

The latest update is that travel from within the Atlantic Bubble will resume effective June 23.

Effective June 23

  • Vaccinated people from within Atlantic Canada who have been approved under one of the following travel streams (family connections, compassionate, exceptional travel, seasonal residents) can submit their vaccine record to Public Safety and if approved, will not need to self-isolate in PEI.  

  • Travellers will require a negative test soon after arriving in the PEI.

Effective June 27 - see full details in Step 2 of the Moving Forward Plan

  • Partially or fully vaccinated people travelling to PEI from within Atlantic Canada who have a PEI Pass will not have to isolate, subject to testing at points of entry, and no travel streams will be required.  

  • Vaccinated Island residents will be able to travel within Atlantic Canada and not have to self-isolate when they return to PEI, subject to testing.  

  • Unvaccinated visitors from Atlantic Canada and unvaccinated Islanders will be required to complete a declaration and isolate for 8 days with testing on entry to PEI, and on day 8. Pre-travel approval through a travel stream will not be required.

  • Permanent residents from the Magdalen Islands can travel to PEI, subject to the same measures as others from Atlantic Canada. Vaccinated Island residents can travel to the Magdalen Islands and will not be required to self-isolate when they return home, subject to testing.

  • Essential same-day travel - PEI residents travelling within Atlantic Canada for some types of same-day travel are not required to self-isolate upon return to PEI, subject to certain restrictions.

  • Fully vaccinated Canadians from outside of the Atlantic Provinces can apply for a PEI pass beginning on July 7 (for entry on or after July 18).

  • People who have received two doses of a COVID-19 vaccine will be exempt from self-isolation, and those who have one dose or are unvaccinated will be required to self-isolate for 8 days.

 

The Canada/US border reopens to US citizens and Permanent residence effective August 9.
